The photographs presented at this exhibit are a part of an ongoing series on the “Neveh Tzedek” neighborhood in Tel Aviv. Robert Azoff does not seek to document the neighborhood, nor to perpetuate it landscapes. Rather he is conducting a sensitive, profound direct and professional dialogue with its plastic values. The sights of “Neveh Tzedek” serve as the raw material for his works. His skillfully constructed compositions emphasize definitions of surfaces, meetings between different textures, types of materials, shapes, tones, light and shadows. He presents a cultured, meticulous, consolidated, mature vision uninfluenced by outside fashions and trends.

The photographs presented in this exhibition are part of an ongoing series on the Neveh Tzedek neighborhood in Tel Aviv.
Robert Azoff does not seek to document the neighborhood, nor to perpetuate it landscapes. Rather he is conducting a sensitive, profound, direct and professional dialogue with its plastic values.
The sights of “Neveh Tzedek” serve as the raw material for his works. His skillfully constructed compositions emphasize definitions of surfaces, meetings between different textures, types of materials, shapes, tones, light and shadow.
At times, he detaches things from their ordinary context giving them new meaning, sometimes mystical – soft light spreading forth illuminating surface textures, thin webs of shadow leaving their traces on a wall, meetings between one reality and another parallel reality.
In his words: ”In order to work in a place, I wait for the moment when I feel it echoing within me.”
It is these moments that Robert catches in his camera. He presents us with a cultured, meticulous, consolidated, mature vision that is not influenced by outside fashions and trends.
His photographs are endowed with sensitivity to his surroundings and a high esthetic level.
