The Israeli Sculptures from the British “St. Martin”, 1960-1965: Models
At October 10th, 1981 opened in the Jerusalem Artists’ House a series of actions carrying the name Ulam (meaning both “room” and “alternative” in Hebrew) composed of 10 monthly exhibitions. The project aimed at creating a center for small scale museum activity, a model or sketch for desired exhibitions which presence is missing by the artistic community at the time. The activity focused on contemporary art, mainly young art which didn’t reach museums. The project was a cooperation of the Artists’ House and ‘Proza’ press, which produced the catalogs for the exhibitions.
