Brief bio

Helen Bar-Lev is a well-known Jerusalem-based artist who has exhibited her paintings around the globe. She is renown for her delicately unique technique combining pen and brush, to achieve a level of detail rarely seen in watercolour. Since 1976 she has had over 75 exhbitions. From 1989-2001 she lived in the Artists’ Colony in Safed where she had a permanent exhibition in her home. She returned to Jerusalem in 2001. The Israel Museum, former mayor of Jerusalem, the Hon. Teddy Kollek, and numerous private collections worldwide have acquired her paintings and prints.

She self published a book of her paintings of animals and poems she wrote about them in 2004 for an exhibition at the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo.

She is a member of the Israel Artists’ and Sculptors’ Association and of the Voices Israel English Poetry group.
